Brief: In a day, create a logo for a bottle of beer with the theme of Belfast.
Belfast is steeped in history. The mark created plays on Belfast’s past of shipbuilding: compass points and the sailor type banner. The four letters
are the consonants that are present in the word ‘Quarter’ and are positioned in a square which could be divided in four, to graphically depict quarters.
The name symbolises the seven quarters of Belfast with each quarter being representative of the locale, history and culture. ‘Quarter’ also is an ancient term that was used to describe the standard measure for barley as bought by a maltster, in the process of brewing beer.
A different colour has been chosen to precisely symbolises each area. This brand represents location and taking pride in where you come from. Moving forward but remembering the past.
